Ladysmith waits to hear about help to remove derelict vessels

The Town of Ladysmith applied to remove just about a dozen abandonded vessels with funding from Transport Canada’s Abandoned Boats Program.

Mayor Aaron Stone says they should find out any day now whether or not that funding has been approved…..

Stone says there are more than two dozen abandoned vessels in the Ladysmith harbour that need to be removed and they’ll be applying for more funding down the road.
