Mural artist returns to Chemainus

A globally-recognized artist is returning to Chemainus today (Monday) to restore a mural he painted over three decades ago.

The Chemainus Festival of Murals Society media coordinator is Peter Collum.

He says Paul Ygartua is coming back to refurbish the community’s most famous historical mural entitled, Native Heritage.

Collum says Ygartua will do all his work by hand with a brush just like he did in 1983 when it was painted.
