Talks heating up about third fire hall in Shawnigan

The dream of having a third fire hall in Shawnigan continues to inch closer to becoming reality.
The community’s district director Bruce Fraser says it has taken more than four years to get to this point, however, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Fraser says another station could serve sub-divisions at the south end of Shawnigan which aren’t easily accessible by the two other stations — as well as improve overall response time by the fire service.
He hopes construction can begin this year with a goal of having an active hall by early 2015.
