There will be an inaugural picnic this weekend at Transfer Beach in Ladysmith for parents of children who have special needs.
Organizer Adrienne Richards moved here a number of years ago and says she found a lack of connection when it came to finding resources for herself and her 10 year old son.
She says she also misses being able to share her experiences…
The picnic is a bring your own blanket and lunch affair and starts at 11 o’clock Sunday morning.
Richards says there’s a great playground there that is wheelchair accessible.
