The labour contract between the union representing support workers at Vancouver Island University, including the Cowichan campus, and the institution expires today.
The president of the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 1858 is Deborah Hopper.
Hopper says the union will not release any information about the bargaining talks until official negotiations are underway.
