Alcohol manufacturers a step closer to participating in Saturday market

Organizers at the Duncan Farmers Market have met with both the Downtown Business Improvement District and the City of Duncan to get their ducks in a row to allow for liquor vendors at the Saturday market.

Duncan’s Director of Corporate Services, Karen Robertson says staff have prepared some recommendations which council will deal with next Monday…..
The policy allows for 7 liquor manufacturing vendors, but that number could go as high as 18 on any given Saturday.
It also recommends the vendors be together in one area of the market.
Approval of the plan will pave the way for Farmer’s Market officials themselves to determine whether or not they want to allow the alcohol manufacturers at the Saturday market.
