University Village Local Area Plan in limbo

It’s back to the drawing board for the University Village Local Area Plan.
It was slated to receive first reading at the Committee of the Whole Meeting yesterday but Mayor of North Cowichan, Jon Lefebure says there were a number of different opinions on the Plan, specifically dealing with the north boundary containment area.
Lefebure says the majority of council wants to move that border right up to the dike on Beverley Street and that would take in an additional 40 acres of land.
Lefebure says that area encompasses a number of different zonings and a number of different land uses including 2 schools, the school district office, bus storage and the Fun Pacific Golf Course.
