The BC branch of the Lifesaving Society would like to remind residents to be responsible this summer while swimming or taking part in water activities.
The society’s executive director is Dale Miller.
He says a lot of accidents can be prevented by keeping in mind basic water safety.
Miller says parents should always keep an eye out on their children when they are in the water.
He adds youth and young adults need to be smart when consuming alcohol because the risk of water-related incidents increases.
