14 firefighters from two local departments and three from B.C. Forest ServiceĀ battled a blaze yesterday in the Sahtlam area.
According to a report, eight from theĀ Sahtlam Volunteer Fire Rescue and six from the Lake Cowichan Fire Department joined the B.C.Forest ServiceĀ members in a five-hour battle against a one-hectare fire.
Two trucks and three tenders were Ā used to combat the fire and theĀ firefightersĀ had to deal withĀ 34 degree temperatures as well as a hill with trees and stumps.
