North Cow/Duncan RCMP constable honoured

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP constable Joe Power was honoured this year as he was selected to join the 312 other BC police officers on Alexa’s Team for 2013.

Alexa’s Team has grown to over 13 thousand officers in the last few years.

Since the tragic loss of four and half year old Alexa Middelaer in May of 2008, her parents have been determined to keep Alexa’s memory alive not only in their hearts but the hearts of every police officer in the province.

Created in 2009, Alexa’s Team is a partnership between the Middelaer family, the BCAA Road Safety Foundation and ICBC.

Police officers selected for Alexa’s Team for 2013 were required to have taken at least 12 criminally impaired drivers off the road.
