RCMP: 35 files from open liquor tickets at SunFest

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP say policing at this year’s SunFest generated 65 files over the five days with 35 files coming via tickets for open liquor.

The Mounties say it was a large scale policing operation, with up to 28 regular members and auxiliaries present at a time.

RCMP say they brought in a large Mobile Command Post from E Division Headquarters to run operations out of, two ATV’s from Shawnigan Lake RCMP were utilized, as well as bicycles from North Cowichan / Duncan Detachment.

Officers and Auxiliaries came from Sidney, Victoria, Sooke, West Shore, Shawnigan Lake, North Cowichan / Duncan, Nanaimo, Oceanside, and one visiting Auxiliary from Fort St. John.
