Trial of Duncan man accused of beating dog moved

The trial of a Duncan area man accused of beating a dog and threatening witnesses has been moved to Thursday after two witnesses failed to show up on Monday.

Brandon Harrison’s case relates to an alleged beating of a Boston Terrier cross dog on Cowichan Lake Road back in April of 2013.

The 26-year-old is facing numerous charges including uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm; criminal harassment; causing unnecessary pain and suffering to an animal and causing an animal to continue to be in distress.

Harrison has pleaded not guilty to all of them.
