New Chemainus skate park on verge of reality

It appears that it’s all but official that construction of a new skate park at the former Chemainus Elementary School will begin this fall.

The Mayor of the Municipality of North Cowichan, Jon Lefebure, says the topic was addressed at Wednesday’s council meeting.

Lefebure has this message to anybody concerned about the noise the park could generate.

Lefebure says the budget for the construction of the park is 350 thousand dollars with another five grand coming from skateboard enthusiasts through the Cowichan Neighbourhood House.
