Duncan area man acquitted of charges in dog beating trial

The trial of a Duncan area man accused of beating a dog and threatening witnesses who apparently saw it has come to an end

26-year-old Brandon Harrison was acquitted of all charges: uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, causing unnecessary pain and suffering to an animal, causing an animal to continue to be in distress and criminal harassment; a charge he received a not-guilty verdict of eight days ago.

According to a report — the judge said the two main witnesses’ testimony were unreliable.

The incident in question allegedly took place on Cowichan Lake Road last year and surrounded the alleged beating of a Boston Terrier cross dog.
