Police will be out in full force on Labour Day Weekend

Police will be out in full force this Labour Day Weekend to make sure the roads will be safe for drivers in the Cowichan Valley.
Cst Dion Klassen, with South Island Traffic in Chemainus, says there will be road checks and police will be looking out for speeding, seat belt use, distracted drivers as well as impaired motorists.
He has this advice for anybody that will be using the section of the Trans-Canada Highway on the Malahat that is under construction.
Klassen says motorists should be aware of higher volumes of traffic that will include RV’s, trucks and trailers hauling boats.
