The annual Cops for Cancer bicycle event Tour de Rock officially kicks off this Saturday in Port Alice, a small community on Northern Vancouver Island.
Cowichan Valley resident Elizabeth Avis, an auxiliary member of the Duncan-North Cowichan RCMP, is taking part in the 13 day, 11 hundred kilometre event.
Avis says the riders will be going through Ladysmith and Chemainus on the 29th, Lake Cowichan and Duncan on the 30th and Shawnigan Lake and Mill Bay on October 1st.
