Plans coming together for back to school as teachers hold ratification vote

At least one area school district has announced plans for the first day of school; assuming a new contract is ratified.

The Cowichan District has been saying the first day will likely be Monday or Tuesday, but still hasn’t confirmed which.

The Nanaimo Ladysmith District says Tuesday will be the first day for students in its schools.

Teachers vote today on whether to accept the tentative contract. School Boards will also have to ratify, and that’s expected to happen early Friday.
