Cedar parents to pay for busing to Ladysmith Secondary

Over 50 Cedar-area students will be jumping on a school bus paid for by their parents when they head back to class next week.
The Nanaimo Ladysmith School District shut down Cedar Secondary and gave students the choice of going to John Barsby or Ladysmith Secondary.
Parent Steve Rae says SD68 claims they can’t afford to bus the kids who chose Ladysmith, leaving parents to figure something out.
Rae says it’s shameful SD68 is not providing a bus, especially given the 7.8 million dollar operating surplus announced last week.
