Most students back to school today. RCMP remind drivers speed zones will be enforced

It’s the start of the school year for thousands of BC students, after losing 5 weeks of classes because of a labour dispute.
It’s going to be a short day today for Cowichan student.  Schools will open at their usual times and dismiss two hours early.  Tuesday will be a regular day of classes.
Nanaimo Ladysmith students start the school year Tuesday.
Schools in the Gulf Islands School District, SD64, open on the usual first day early dismissal schedule.
The province says despite the missed class time, the year will not be extended, and RCMP are reminding drivers to watch for buses and that all school zone speed limits will be enforced as of today.
