UBCM backs ferry recommendations, but no promise of action from province

The Premier and the Transportation Minister aren’t making any promises but they say they’ll keep talking with coastal communities about BC ferries.
This, after recommendations from a Union of BC Municipalities report on BC ferries got unanimous support at the group’s convention today.
The main one calls for service levels and fares to be restored to 2013 levels.
UBCM Executive Member Claire Moglove says a subsequent meeting with Christy Clark and Todd Stone was a good first step.
The local government reps also used the meeting to press for ferries to be treated like the highway system.
