Work on new home of Neighbourhood House in Chemainus to begin soon

Renovations to the soon-to-be new location of the Neighbourhood House in Chemainus could be starting in the beginning of next month.

The Municipality of North Cowichan is helping fund the work and the eventual move of the Neighbourhood House to a tune of up to 20 thousand dollars as well as rental costs for four years.

Mayor Jon Lefebure says the community and youth resource centre will transition to the building immediately north of the old Chemainus fire hall by the end of the year.

The Neighbourhood House has provided services for Cowichan’s most vulnerable in its current location for over a decade and a half.
