An affordable housing trust fund for the Cowichan Valley is one step closer to becoming a reality thanks to grants by the Real Estate Foundation of BC and CVRD.
Social Planning Cowichan’s regional affordable housing coordinator is Joy Emmanuel.
She says the grants add up to just under $18,000 and will be used to develop a business case for the trust fund that shows how it might work in the valley.
Emmanuel says this will lead to questions being answered about the fund such as how it might work, how money can be generated and in what type of ways.
