Krog pleased with decision to hold referendum on TWU law school

NDP Attorney General Critic and Nanaimo lawyer Leonard Krog says the Law Society of British Columbia’s decision to hold a referendum on a proposed law school at Trinity Western University is the right one.

The decision follows a non-binding vote earlier in the year that overturned a decision in April to accredit the new law school.

Krog says the TWU’s Christian covenant is inherently discriminatory.

Krog says asking BC lawyers to weigh in on a referendum of this kind is unprecedented.

The results of the mail-in ballot should be known by the end of October.
