Save Cedar Schools advocates making bid for SD68 trustee seats

A trio of veterans of the fight to stop the closure of schools have announced plans to run for the Nanaimo – Ladysmith School Board.

Steve Rae, Scott Kimler and Stephanie Higginson were prominent members of the group Save Cedar Schools, which tried to stop the current Board from closing and consolidating schools under a 10 year facilities plan.

Higginson says that fight convinced them change is needed, but she says they’re not single issue candidates.

Higginson also says they don’t consider themselves a slate – despite issuing a joint announcement – but they do think they’d be able to work together well.
