New session opens today at Legislature

MLAs return to Victoria today for a new session at the Legislature.

The big piece of business for the government is getting its LNG “framework” legislation through. Political analyst Alan Warnke, a retired VIU prof, says the LNG strategy still holds a lot of risk for Premier Christy Clark

But Nanaimo North Cowichan NDP MLA Doug Routley says he’s hoping to see more focus on things that can help the economy now.

Cowichan Valley MLA Bill Routely says he wants some answers from the government on how this summer’s drought was handled.

The Speech from the Throne will open the session at 1 Monday afternoon.
