There was a heavy police presence in a Nanaimo neighbourhood after an armed, masked man was seen heading into an apartment building.
Mounties were called to the building in the 600 block of Comox Road just before 5 Monday.
The RCMP’s Emergency Response Team also attended to the call.
Out of precaution the area was shut down.
Police located the man and determined he was dressed for Halloween in camoflauge, a mask and had a dollar store gun.
Just prior to that call, police attended to a bank robbery at the CIBC branch on the Island Highway near Costco.
A lone man got away with an undisclosed amount of cash around 3:30 in the afternoon.
A suspect has yet to be located.
