Halloween safety tips from the RCMP

Mounties want drivers and kids to be safe for Halloween.

Constable Karen Whitby said with the early darkness, visibility should be a major focus for trick or treaters.

“We are just asking people to try and wear light coloured or bright costumes
or wear reflective tape around your ankles or arms. Flashlights are always great. One of the big things is with the kids going door to door it’s best if they can stick to one side of the street and not be darting back and forth.”

Whitby said if the kids are going trick or treating they should stay in a group and don’t let them consume any candy until you have had a chance to check it.
