City of Duncan Forecasts Tax Increase of Nearly Four Per Cent

The City of Duncan draft 2019 bylaw is showing a preliminary tax increase of 3.89 per cent.

The increase is determined by using the 2018 assessed property values and the tax increases were 3.5 and 2.4 per cent in 2018 and 2017 respectively.

A Committee of the Whole meeting is set for City Hall starting at noon today, as council will provide feedback to staff about how the budget meets the expectations of the community.

This is a starting point in the budget process and no final decisions are expected at this meeting.
