Fireworks-safety bylaw won't be in place for Halloween in North Cow
There will not be a new fireworks-safety bylaw in place for this Halloween.
The proposed bylaw was on the agenda at a North Cowichan council meeting on Wednesday because there were some serious incidents invovling fireworks around the same time last year including a blaze.
Mayor Jon Lefebure explains why the regulation didn’t get the nod from council.
The new bylaw would limit permits to bussiness organizations that hold public fireworks shows and families as well as neighbourhood groups would not be able to get permits.
