Ladysmith shelter seeks regular operating hours

Members of the public are invited to attend a neighbourhood information meeting tomorrow afternoon (Wed, Nov 28) in Ladysmith.

It’s being hosted by the Ladysmith Resource Centre Association and it’s about the extreme weather shelter on First Avenue.

The Association is seeking feedback from the neighbourhood regarding a proposal to open the shelter to the homeless every night from November 1st to March 31st.

Right now the shelter is only open on the coldest nights.

The neighbourhood information meeting goes from 3 to 5 in the basement of the shelter at 631 First Avenue.

Members of the public who cannot make the afternoon meeting can attend a second session being held at the Ladysmith Resource Centre Association on 2nd Avenue, tomorrow night from 5 to 7.
