It's a planting party!

Green thumb, or not, there’s a chance to do a little gardening tomorrow that will help preserve one of the most special places in the Cowichan Valley; The Garry Oak Preserve (picture courtesy Nature Conservancy) in Maple Bay.

the Nature Conservancy is hosting a wetland restoration-planting party. Volunteer coordinator Katie Fulton says its fun – and important – work.

The party is from 10:30 – 2:30. Fulton says there’s no need to sign up ahead of time, just bring lunch and your rain gear and be prepared to get your hands dirty!
