Mills family wins North Cow's Community for Climate Household Challenge

The winners of the Community for Climate Household Challenge were revealed at a North Cowichan council meeting on Thursday.

Tyrone and Agnes Mills and their two children ended up taking the top prize after five weeks of working towards reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

The challenge involved five North Cowichan families that competed to see who could make the biggest changes in five areas: eating more locally-produced foods; and reducing energy, waste, water consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions.

For their efforts, the winning family received a six-month food supply from a local farm.
