New book offers glimpse of life as military spouse
A new book by a Vancouver Island author is offering a glimpse into the life of a military spouse. Brenda Corey Dunne’s book “Dependent” is about a wife dealing with her own secrets and guilt following the death of her husband in a tragic accident.
Dunne says the book is loosely based on her own experiences. She has been a military spouse for 17 years, after serving eight years with the Air Force.
Dunne says being married to someone dedicated to serving their country can be a very lonely thing, especially since it often means moving frequently. She has moved 10 times in 17 years, but she now calls Comox home, where her husband is Base Commander at 19 Wing Comox. Dependent is Dunne’s second novel.
