The CEO of BC Ferries says he wants to “dispel some myths” after a Facebook rant from a Campbell River man put old complaints back in the spotlight.

The post – written by a social media expert – was shared thousands of times, and got a lot of press. It argues Ferries should cut out the cruise ship style on board services and stop advertizing.

But Mike Corrigan says those things actually make money.

Critics of BC Ferries have been saying for years the company needs to re-focus on basic transportation, and follow the example of Washington State Ferries.
