Future of Cowichan Sportsplex to be decided at civic elections

Residents in different areas of the CVRD as well as Ladysmith and Lake Cowichan will determine the future of the Cowichan Sportsplex at tomorrow’s civic elections.
Citizens will have a referendum question on their ballot to decide whether or not they are in favour or against the CVRD providing core funding for the facility.

The board director of the Sportsplex is Barry Waters.

The facility will be the site of 2018 BC Summer Games.
The Sportsplex houses fields for soccer, field hockey and lacrosse as well as slo-pitch diamonds, lacrosse box, cushioned track, outdoor fitness equipment and a children’s playground.
