Snowfall Warning for the Cowichan Valley, Malahat reopens, schools closed Monday
The Trans Canada highway from the West Shore Parkway to Mill Bay has reopened.
Mainroads is out and says there are white out conditions and it’s a good idea to stay home if you don’t have to drive.
The ferry from Mill Bay to Brentwood Bay is operating, but is running 40 minutes behind schedule.
Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for East Vancouver Island.
10 to 20 centimeters of snow is possible.
Bands of heavy snow are hitting the Island
BC Transit has cancelled bus service on Salt Spring Island, otherwise buses are running but are not on schedule.
Flights into and out of both the Nanaimo and Victoria airports are being cancelled, although some are listed as leaving, or arriving, on time.
It would be a good idea to check the status of the flight you are interested in before heading out.
Schools will be closed in School District 79 and 68 tomorrow (Mon).
