Police investigate hit and run

The North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are investigating a hit and run.

It happened back on January 31st around 10 in the evening at the Duncan Mall.

The vehicle was stopped at a stop sign at the mall exit west of the Shell Gas Station to turn right on Trunk Road.

The pedestrian was walking on the sidewalk and made eye contact and waved at the driver, who waved back.

The pedestrian was then struck in the right leg hard enough to send him up on the hood of the car.

The pedestrian had minor injuries but the car took off.

The vehicle is described as an early 2000’s black Honda Civic with tinted windows.

The driver and passenger are both described as white women with blonde hair.

Surveillance camera’s from a neighbouring business captured the incident on video and police are asking those responsible to come forward.
