Forestry public assembly nearly a full house
The event was held at the Cowichan Performing Arts Centre, hosted by the forest advocacy group Where Do We Stand.
That group was recently successful in its attempt to convince the Municipality of North Cowichan to scale back the logging activity in our community forests.
According to a spokesperson for the group, Icel Dobell, the assembly was an important event for two reasons.
One, because of the caliber of speakers, but also, she expected the turnout would validate the local interest in our community forest.
