Air quality advisory ended

The Ministry of Environment and Island Health have lifted the air quality advisory for the Cowichan Valley.

They say a cleansing weather system that moved through the area overnight Thursday and Friday morning means smoke from open burning is now longer being trapped down low.

Earle Plain is an air quality meteorologist with the Ministry.

Open burning is now allowed again, so long as you’re following all the usual rules from the Ministry or local governments.
