Polytechnique Massacre vigil taking place at VIU Cowichan campus

The Cowichan Women Against Violence Society will be hostingĀ a memorial vigil at the VIU Cowichan campus at noon on Friday.
Kendra Thomas is with victim services.
She says theĀ ceremony will look back at a tragic event that shocked the nation almost 25 years ago to the day.
Thomas says 14 red roses will be laidĀ for eachĀ murdered womanĀ and one white rose for all woman killed because of violence.
The officialĀ National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women is Saturday.
