The Cowichan Women Against Violence Society will be hosting a memorial vigil at the VIU Cowichan campus at noon on Friday.
Kendra Thomas is with victim services.
She says the ceremony will look back at a tragic event that shocked the nation almost 25 years ago to the day.
Thomas says 14 red roses will be laid for each murdered woman and one white rose for all woman killed because of violence.
The official National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women is Saturday.
