A prominent voice in the Save Cedar Schools fight is now the Chair of the Nanaimo – Ladysmith School Board.
Steve Rae, a first time trustee, was chosen at this week’s inaugural meeting. Another Save Cedar Schools advocate, Stephanie Higginson will be the vice Chair.
But Rae says they were elected to represent the entire district and won’t fixate on one issue.
Rae says the board needs to work on re-establishing relationships with key stakeholders, as they consider SD 68’s priorities for the next four years.
The new Cowichan Valley School Board will be sworn in, and elect its Chair, Wednesday afternoon.
