Road rage incident near Lantzville

Oceanside RCMP are looking for the suspect.

It happened a week ago Monday, on May 6th at 4:30 in the afternoon.

Mounties got a call from someone who reported they had been driving southbound on the Island Highway near Bayview Park Drive in Lantzville when he was sideswiped by a truck towing a trailer.

Both vehicles stopped and the driver of the truck got out and walked toward the victim.

He was wearing a balaclava and carrying a baseball bat and walked up to the victim’s driver’s side window and smashed the bat through it.

The victim suffered minor injuries as a result.

The truck was described as a grey 2002 to 2005 year model Dodge 2500 or 3500 series full sized truck with a crew cab and a short box.

The truck had black fender flares and was towing a 10 foot, single axle flat deck trailer at the time of the incident.
