Body of missing senior found near Maple Mountain

There’s been a sad end to the search for a missing Cowichan Valley senior.

RCMP have confirmed a body found near Maple Mountain late last week was that of a 79-year-old Duncan man who’d been missing since late September.

It’s believed Tony Morely had gone out for hike September 21st. His car was found parked on Osborne Bay Road near the entrance to Maple Mountain Park. The official search effort ended in early October, after some 2-thousand person hours, and more than 23 square kilometers covered without any success.
