Search for missing boater called off

RCMP have called off the search for a man missing in the waters between Mayne and Saturna Islands.

The 21 year old Saturna resident was in a rowboat that overturned Friday night.

A second man in the boat was able to get to shore and call for help.

Coast Guard, the Search and Rescue Squadron from Comox, RCM-SAR and Saltspring SAR volunteers spent three days searching the area, but there’s been no sign of the young man.

Police haven’t released the man’s name, but the have released a description in the hope someone might have information.

He’s blonde and has a slim build. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and gum-boots.
