Comox Valley RCMP: Father of two dead after suspected hit and run

Comox Valley RCMP say a missing person investigation is now a probe into a fatal hit and run.

48-year-old Paul Bally, was reported missing in the Fanny Bay area around 11 PM on Monday.  About half an hour later, he was found lying in a ditch by Highway 19A.  He died in hospital.

He’d been on a bicycle, and RCMP say it seems he was hit by a vehicle.

Constable Don Sinclair says police need the public’s help tracking down the vehicle and its driver.

Bally was a father of two and a middle school teacher.
