Charge laid in fatal Fanny Bay hit and run

An arrest has been made in the fatal hit and run that claimed the life of 48-year-old Paul Bally on Monday night.
Bally was riding his bike in the Fanny Bay area. He was reported missing around 11pm and his body was found in a ditch shortly after.
Acting on a tip from the public, RCMP officers checked out a property in the Comox Valley area last night. They seized a 2003 Ford F-350 truck for further examination.
Police say 55-year-old Timothy David Prad was arrested in the Bowser area around 8pm. He appeared in Courtenay Provincial Court on Thursday and has been formally charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident. He has been released from custody pending future court proceedings.
RCMP Sergeant Mark Whitworth with North Island Traffic Services says the investigation is continuing.
