SD68 Superintendent Dave Hutchinson steps down

Dave Hutchinson has stepped down as Superintendent of the Nanaimo Ladysmith School District.

SD68 Board Chair Steve Rae says the move caught them off guard.

Rae says the board’s meeting on Wednesday and he expects they’ll make Blain the acting Superintendent. He says they’ll also have to talk about what they’ll look for in a new Superintendent.

Rae says the board’s priorities in 2015 include reestablishing relationships with key stakeholders, including parents, the Snuneymuxw First Nation and the Nanaimo District Teachers’ Association.
