Greens upbeat about chances on Van Isle, as they name another candidate

Party leader Elizabeth May is predicting a Green tidal wave on Vancouver Island.

May was in Nanaimo Monday night for the nomination of Paul Manly as the party’s candidate in Nanaimo-Ladysmith.

She says they’re aiming for at least 12 seats across the country in the coming election, which would earn them full party status, and Vancouver Island looks very promising.

May says Glenn Sollitt has been confirmed as the party’s candidate in Courtenay-Alberni, and they’re still looking to finalize candidates for several seats, including Langford-Malahat-Cowichan the other riding created by the break up of Nanaimo-Cowichan.
