A man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant has been arrested in Parksville.
Marcel Joseph Parent was wanted by Vancouver police for breaching parole, after he didn’t return to his Vancouver halfway house on January 18.
The 37-year-old was nabbed by Oceanside RCMP at a seasonal rental property in Parksville on Monday evening. RCMP pinged a phone number they had for Parent, and used the information to track him down.
He is being detained at the Parksville Detachment, and will be transferred on Tuesday morning.
Parent has served time for sexual assault with a weapon, armed robbery, forcible confinement, uttering threats, and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.
